Mile 239.5 - Segment 14

Isaiah 33 - 34

Another fine day!   The morning started with a road walk, heading down the mountain, ultimately ending up at the Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort.  I stopped in the country store there for a donut and a Coke for breakfast.  Filling up my water bottles there, I continued down the road to where it cut back into the pine forest.  From there, the trail meandered across some fields and open meadows before curving back into the mountain.  I stopped at a handy stump for lunch, and then cruised along the mostly gentle undulations of the trail as it continued on southward.

By late afternoon, I found a nice flat spot to set up camp and stopped for the day.  Tomorrow I have about 10 miles to the pass where I’ll head into Salina for the night at a local hostel.  I’d originally planned to take a “zero” day there, but will likely only stay the one night.  We’ll see how I feel when I get there.

Tomorrow also signifies the half way point of my journey, both in days completed and left, and in distance (approximately 250 miles completed).  It will feel good to be on the homestretch of this trek.

Until next time…
